This is not my best song, but it's among my favorites. I'll post more later on, but for now, what do you think of this?
"How to properly market suicide"
Make slick fantastic ads Tell them just what they want And then you know you have control Just find the weak of heart Like sheep, blindly they march REady to do just as you say Cause you're in control
(chorus) Convince them that they want it And that they've got to have it And they'll come to you with arms open wide And if they can't live without it Then they'll only die to get it When you know how to properly market suicide
There is no other way That's what you have to tell them They'll believe you Cause you're on the television and never let them stop To think about it Cause free thought is the enemy of enterprise
(chorus)
They've got the means And you've got the masses Grab there attention Tell them it's fashion It's better than a drug And cheaper than a lie It's not the will to live Just the will to die
(chorus)

That is superb work right there. I especially love the third verse, and the line "free thought is the enemy of enterprise". What genre?

Ummmm... I'm still debating that... it's either gonna be really fast and punkish, or more slow and haunting... I also thought about it sort of in between, but I don't like the sound, so it's gonna eb an extreme one way or the other. I might even play it both ways at different times.
I want to define a genre, not be defined by one... That's a good quote, I'm proud of me.

Believe it or not, when I read it I was thinking Marilyn Manson.

Lol. I can actually see where you're coming from on that. It's right up his ally, it would seem... Thart's not the style i write though.... But maybe I could fit it into that kind of sound... It's still up in the air at this point. It's odd, cause usually when I write songs I know exactly how I want them to sound, and with this I have no idea.

I agree with Hobo, I like the 3rd verse the best. I think it would sound good as a slower grungy kind of song, if you know what I'm saying. Anyway great job on this song Cal!

Thank very much, Layzie... Now if only my band can get together to practice. My friend said if we could get a few songs together, he could have a gig for us as early as mid september... We have no drummer though, but we may do a few shows without one, just have the bassist as our rhythm section... It'd be interesting, I still want a drummer as soon as we can find one... I need a cymbol now, and a keyboard. I can't play much, but I can throw some stuff in here and there.
